Meet Nilo, the Baker Behind Every Cake
I've been baking custom cakes out of my Whitby studio for over five years, and in that time I've made hundreds of wedding cakes for hundreds of couples across Durham Region, birthday cakes for families across the GTA, and the Persian sweets my own family taught me to make.
I don't have a production line. I take the consultation, I design the cake, I bake it, and I decorate it. That means when you describe what you want, you're describing it to the person who will actually make it which is the main reason my cakes turn up looking like the sketch.
Everything is baked from scratch to order. No pre-made layers, nothing pulled from a freezer. If you want a flavour that isn't on my list, ask me. I can usually do it.

How much does a custom cake cost in Whitby?
Every cake is quoted individually, because the price depends on your guest count, the size and number of tiers, and how much detail the design carries, sugar flowers, hand-piping and gold leaf all take time by hand. A cake for twenty is a different job from a wedding cake for a hundred and fifty, so rather than work from a price list, I'd prefer to quote yours properly. Tell me your date, your guest count and roughly what you're picturing, and I'll come back with an honest estimate!
How far in advance should I order a wedding cake?
At least two weeks for weddings, and one week for most other custom cakes. Short-notice orders are often possible depending on what's already booked. The only way to know is to get in touch, and the sooner you do, the better the chance your date is still open!
Do you deliver to Oshawa, Ajax and Pickering?
Yes. Delivery covers Durham Region and the GTA, including Oshawa, Ajax, Pickering, Brooklin, Bowmanville, Courtice, Scarborough, Markham and Toronto. Pickup is from the Whitby studio by appointment.
Can I taste the cake before I order?
Absolutely! You pick the flavours you'd like to try and I make them up as mini cakes for you to take home and taste in your own time. The cost of the tasting is credited toward your booking when you go ahead.
